It is our great honor and pleasure to inform you about the 3rd International Professional Conference "With brewers, for brewers", which will be held on March 28th, 2025 in the atrium of the Karlovac University of Applied Sciences. The lack of conferences on this topic in Croatia, the resulting great interest of brewers, the current issues in the field, as well as the planned oral presentations, are a guarantee that this conference will be well attended and successful.

The conference is primarily intended for experts and employees in the brewing sector - whether large, industrial or small craft breweries - with the aim of their additional education and advancement, interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge between domestic and foreign experts and facilitating the transfer of knowledge between industry and educational and scientific institutions. The lecture topics are selected according to the criteria of current relevance, while the invited lecturers will be the best available experts in their field. In addition, this event is an excellent opportunity to meet, socialize, exchange ideas, negotiate deals, etc. The idea is that this conference will be held once a year and over time grow into a recognizable brand of the Karlovac University of Applied Sciences, but also of the city of Karlovac itself, and become an event that experts will appreciate, that everyone will look forward to and will be happy to return to.

This year's novelty is that the conference will last two days in total - on Thursday, March 27, 2025, the workshop "Sensory Assessment of Beer Quality - Undesirable Aromas" will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, while the main programme of the conference will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025

WORKSHOP "Sensory Assessment of Beer Quality - Undesirable Aromas"

The workshop will be led by Dr. Boris Gadžov, a world-renowned expert with extensive experience in the field of sensory assessment of beer quality. Dr. Gadžov's main job is to hold similar trainings in a large number of breweries around the world and at various brewing professional and scientific conferences, and he will share his rich and broad knowledge of beer and its sensory characteristics with the participants of this workshop. During the workshop, participants will try out and become familiar with the 10 basic undesirable aromas that most often occur in beer: diacetyl, lightsruck/fermented, mercaptan, metallic, papery, phenolic, acidic, dimethyl sulfide (DMS), butyric acid, and H2S.

THE PRICE OF THE WORKSHOP IS 30 EUR.

  • As stated above, please register no later than March 7, 2025, so that we have enough time to prepare and organize the conference as best as possible. 

 

  • PARTICIPATION IN THE CONFERENCE IS FREE. 

 

  • Due to space restrictions, the number of participants is limited, so hurry up with your registration. After a certain number, registration will no longer be possible. 

 

  • We will also have several taps available (with S- and A-heads) so you are free to bring your own beer to taste.
